I teach high school Theatre and Theory of Knowledge at Western Academy of Beijing. I am an assistant examiner for IB Theatre. I have had the privilege of traveling with my family and with student trips in China and S.E. Asia. The diversity of cultures, landscapes and lifestyles in China alone is staggering! So much to learn!

From 2004 to 2011 I worked at Bishop Mackenzie International School. Malawi was both a beautiful and a challenging place to live and work. Living there I learnt a great deal about the relative nature of some values and even more about what makes others universal.

Before leaving the UK I worked for theatre company C&T where I had the privilege of creating theatre with extraordinary young people and colleagues who always tried to see things differently - my decision to become a teacher in international education has allowed me to continue to work with learners in ways that challenge and excite me on a daily basis. Long may this adventure continue!

Living in Beijing with my wife, Katie, and two daughters, Lucy and Emily (aged 7 and 5) I enjoy running, football (with the round version), climbing and playing the guitar and trumpet. I have recently started to learn the piano. I continue to love watching, making and performing theatre. Sadly I am no longer able to keep chickens!

I am 41 years old and hold a British passport.
