I am beginning my third year at the Western Academy of Beijing, in the Early Childhood Centre. I have been on a fantastic learning journey since arriving in Beijing - learning a new language, navigating a big city, and of course working in the amazing Early Childhood Centre at WAB.

I worked at Bishop Mackenzie International School in Malawi for 6 years. I arrived in ‘the warm heart of Africa’ in 2003 as a ‘VSO’ (Voluntary Service Overseas) and was employed as a lecturer in a Teacher Training College. I found working with adults very different to working with pre-schoolers and embarked on a whole new learning journey.

Before leaving the UK I was an Early Years Teacher in Kidderminster for 5 years. I became very interested in exploring sustainability and global perspectives with my young class, which sparked my interest in teaching internationally.

I live in Beijing with my husband, Tom, and two daughters, Lucy and Emily (aged 7 and 5.5).

I enjoy cooking, reading, walking, climbing, swimming, and more recently skiing! I love taking photographs and sharing these with family back in the UK.

I am 38 years old and hold a British passport.
